Creating Perfection for Tuckahoe Smiles
Veneers are a natural-looking cosmetic treatment that can provide a dramatic smile makeover.
Everywhere you look, there they are – gleaming, perfect smiles. And they aren’t just on celebrities! How does everyone get such a wonderful, health-looking smile?
While we’d like to hope that people are getting better dental care, we’re pretty sure the real secret is porcelain veneers.
Porcelain veneers are the longest-lasting and most aesthetically-pleasing type of veneer. They are created in a lab to the exact specifications of the dentist and mimic the look of natural enamel, using multiple thin layers of porcelain. The size, color, shape, and fit are fully customized.
What exactly are Porcelain Veneers?
New and innovative technology and materials allow dentistry to make dramatic changes to any smile, and porcelain veneers are on the forefront of this trend.
Porcelain veneers are basically thin shells of porcelain – even stronger and more stain resistant than natural enamel – bonded to the surface of your teeth to lengthen, strengthen, whiten, and correct any aspect of your smile.
Veneers cover the front of the tooth surface and slightly wrap around the sides and biting edge of the tooth. In most cases, each tooth receiving a veneer will be carefully prepped prior to the veneer fabrication and placement. This preparation involves removing a thin (usually less than one millimeter) layer of enamel from the natural tooth in the areas that will be covered by the veneer. This allows the veneer to fit seamlessly with the contours of the natural tooth. The veneers are attached using a thin but strong bonding material. The material hardens when cured by a specialized light.
What Porcelain Veneers can do for Your Smile?
Broken, stained, cracked, short and even gapped or crooked teeth can be brought to a level of perfection you never thought possible.
It’s true! We have seen patients who have terrible cosmetic problems – their teeth are so damaged from drinking soda, every day wear or smoking that they are ashamed to smile at all. If there is enough tooth structure left to support them, we can restore those smiles around with porcelain veneers. Porcelain veneers not only cover all the flaws, they strengthen and support damaged teeth so patients can eat, smile and talk with total freedom once again.
When porcelain dental veneers are created by an artistic dentist like Dr. Graziano, they not only correct and perfect a smile, they look perfectly natural! They offer the natural translucency and thin profile of your own teeth – only whiter and flawless.
