Our Technology in Tuckahoe, NY

3D DIGITAL IMPRESSIONS

In addition to being much more comfortable for the patient, using the scanner allows us to be more efficient and accurate, which can result in a reduced number of visits to the office, saving the patient time.

TEKSCAN T-SCAN® DIGITAL OCCLUSAL ANALYSIS

TEKscan technology allows Dr. Gorsky to more accurately ensure that your teeth are balanced and that your bite is stable to correct uneven bites and malocclusion.

This amazing device measures the bite force of each of your individual teeth to quickly and accurately determine how well-balanced your bite is.

Unlike articulating paper, the TEKscan occlusal analyzer is a Mylar wafer with hundreds of sensors for the most delicate and sophisticated test of occlusal contact. It gives us a three-dimensional view of your bite. From this model, we can determine what is working and what isn’t.

The biggest benefit to our patients is that we can give them the longest-lasting, most comfortable, well-balanced bite, whether we are restoring one tooth or treating TMJ disorder.

JOINT VIBRATION ANALYSIS

Your jaw joints are meant to operate like a well-oiled machine – quietly, smoothly, and with minimal friction. When something is wrong, such as degeneration, cartilage tears, perforations and mechanical displacements, the surfaces become rough or poorly lubricated. Friction increases and the result is vibration often so minute it cannot be detected without sensitive equipment.

Joint vibration analysis technology is based on technology used in submarines and is much more accurate than many other measurement devices. We record and analyze the frequency and duration of these jaw movement patterns and then compare it to normal, healthy jaw joint vibrations. These measurements give us a better picture of your jaw function than x-rays or MRIs because they show movement rather than a static image.

In addition to joint vibration analysis, we use ultrasounds, CT scans study casts, a three dimensional articulator and, occasionally, MRIs as well. All of these evaluation methods help us get a complete depiction of your jaw and jaw movement for the most effective and complete TMJ treatment.

MICROSCOPES AND IMAGING

Some dentists talk about how precise and accurate their dentistry is because they use dental loupes for magnification. Dr. Gorsky takes dental precision one step further with Microscope Dentistry.

Dr. Gorsky uses microscopes in all aspects of diagnosis, treatment, and repair. Why? He thinks his patients’ smiles are worth the effort.

The microscope allows Dr. Gorsky to see every aspect of your teeth in exquisite detail, and consistently perform precise restorative and cosmetic operations. When it comes to the health and beauty of your smile, isn’t that exactly what you want?

Using this microscopic dental technology allows Dr. Gorsky to:

  • Treat cavities and clear away decay at microscopic levels for longer lasting repair and a healthier mouth.
  • Place fillings and other restorations so that they are undetectable to the eye or tongue.
  • Check impressions for the ultimate in meticulous restorative and cosmetic accuracy
  • Create beautiful and natural-looking dental repairs

DIGITAL INTRAORAL CAMERAS

A favorite with our patients, an intra-oral camera lets us take your dentistry to the next level of preventive care. Because it produces an enlarged, full-color image of your mouth in real-time, you can view it right along with Dr. Gorsky and see the current condition of your mouth. Our new patients are always amazed – they have never seen their mouths this up close and personal!

While an intra-oral camera works just like a larger digital camera, they are tiny enough to fit comfortably in your mouth. The camera is located in the tip of a wand and transmits video and photos for you and Dr. Gorsky to review. The wand is covered with a disposable plastic sheath, similar to an electronic thermometer, to keep the procedure sterile and comfortable.

Intra-oral camera technology can help us detect and address problems before they become serious. This is a crucial part of conservative and preventative dental treatment. When conditions such as cavities or gum disease are caught in their earliest stages, less invasive corrective treatment is possible. This not only saves you money, it may save your teeth!

In addition to facilitating more conservative and preventive treatment, this technology allows us to easily and clearly document what you are looking at, uploading it to a computer. This means that we can use these images, along with your digital x-rays, as a baseline for future comparisons and diagnosis.

ULTRA QUIET ELECTRIC HANDPIECES

Dr. Gorsky is always on the lookout for equipment that makes his dentistry more comfortable and efficient for patients. That’s why he always uses the newest technology, such as high-speed electric handpieces.

The greatest benefit of this technology is that it eliminates the “whine” and “noise” of traditional dental drills. It is quiet, soft, and gentle as it runs at a very slow speed and does not cause damage to a tooth associated with traditional drills.

PIEZO ELECTRIC HANDPIECES

They are used for periodontal (gum) and osseous (bone) surgery. These handpieces are gently and meticulously used to remove harmful bacteria without requiring invasive measures.
